One of the toughest things to do is maintain a wolf. Wolfing is the process of growing your hair out for an extended period of time to better your wave pattern. In order to wolf you have to have a lot of hair on your head. Wolfing is essential for bettering your waves. As your hair gets longer and thicker it can get more out of control. That's a good thing. Now you have to learn to maintain your hair which is the wave process. A process that will continue as you get waves from the beginning to the elite stages you will have to work with your hair like you work with your body when you exercise or work with your ingredients in the kitchen.
The best ways to control your hair is to train your hair via brushing and laying your hair down via compression with du-rags and wave caps. That's the best way! But their are other overlooked essentials things that help with controlling your hair. Frizz is something your hair will do along your wave journey a lot especially as your hair grows. Frizz in your hair can make it hard to keep and want waves. Frizz usually happens when the hair is not laid down with compression. So, their is really no way to stop frizz completely but you can control your frizz. When you brush your hair frizz is going to occur no matter what unless you don't have a lot of hair on your head at the time i.e. a very low haircut (which is rarely the case when having 360 waves because the hair is usually not low). Yet, their are ways to combat frizz while not having compression on or brushing.
The best ways to control your hair, frizz, waves all that is to brush in a cool but to cool warm but not to warm environment via a bathroom with a wall mirror and a hand mirror. The reason why this is important is because heat causes frizz and brushing in itself creates frizz naturally so a good environment to brush in is important. If the temperature is not conducive, then its hard to have the motivation to brush. Always using the mirrors will help you see what your doing and where the frizz areas are. So basically cut down on blindly brushing your hair. Brush in the bathroom.
Secondly, new to some old to others is the use of a plastic feel/ bag. Using the plastic Ziploc material is important in laying the hair down and controlling frizz. It should be used in replace of blind brushing, before you put on and after you put on compression. For some reason the plastic bag just helps lay down the hair better than using your hands or brush to lay your hair down. It can be used as a polisher.
The first two steps you can control by yourself with not much help needed just do it. The last method I am going to mention is something that you may have to do or learn to do. That is cutting and free hand trimming your waves. Whether you do it yourself or go to a barber a good way to control frizz/ wolfing is to get weekly lineups and trims. The better your lining is the better the waves look try going to a barber a get a lineup with waves most of the time that will clean you up in a way that before it didn't seem possible and make it look like you’re not even wolfing. Add another step to it, and get a free hand trim which just knocks off the frizz via the little hairs sticking up and then add that in with a nice taper or fade then you will see that its maintained better! Find a good barber or learn to cut yourself from time to time to better control your waves.
All in all, these are the Top 3 ways I believe from experience that helps control my hair, waves and frizz. If you can come up with more feel free to let me know in the comments and help someone else. These are best ways in my opinion to control frizz when having waves like 360 waves.
