flow.

1. Find your pattern. before you start brushing you want to choose what pattern your waves need to go in. The basic way to find patterns is know what 180, 360, 540 or 720 direction waves are and which way you want your waves to go. Whatever direction you brush your hair in is the way the waves will develop. The crown (tiny bald spot on the top of your head) is also important in choosing how you want your crown to develop with your waves. The basic crowns are beehive and swirl. The crown and waves basically resemble that type of look from the crown to out to the hairline.

2. Find your angles. find your angles by doing step 1…always stick to whatever pattern and angles you chose because you don’t want to be switching angles. The beginning is a great time to establish your foundation but you don’t want to be switching angles often. Angles can change over time but you want to be consistent in the beginning by sticking with it the basic angles.  The first month or 2 the waves will just be rippling anyway so what may look like messed up waves are not. Your hair has to reach a certain length in order to be defined and well connected.

3. Be steady. once you start brushing you want to remain steady knowing what pattern your going for and the angles you brush in. Brush in that pattern. Save your progress and be steady with that routine. Try your best to never miss a brush session, or tying the du-rag on after every brushing session. Those simple mistakes will destroy your progress more than worrying about brushing the wrong way.

***These are 3 easy to remember steps to develop flow in your wave pattern. It takes time so it needs to become a lifestyle that you enjoy not that takes the joy of this away. Stay Wavy and Keep Grinding🌊***
