Drink Water.
I drink around 128oz of water daily. I usually break this up into drinking four 32oz. bottles of water throughout the day until I reach 128oz in total. Water is key to keeping our bodies hydrated, active and cool. Being dehydrated can make you feel tired and sluggish. This may lower your interest and motivation in doing what you need to do to get waves. Specifically, for hair it’s said that water promotes hair growth and combats dry scalp. You will be more active drinking water while feeling cool, less tired physically and mentally once you get used to it you won’t even notice it.
Taking Biotin.
if you been around the wave game for a while you’ve probably heard about the vitamin biotin. Many wavers, have recommended this vitamin for hair growth and health. I honestly used it for hair growth in my beginning stages until I learned that it can be used to promote hair health, growth and aids in strengthening the hair. Though it’s recommended by many wavers you still need to see for yourself and make sure you don’t experience any negative side effects through taking biotin. I have been off and on taking biotin but recently I have been consistently taking one every morning alongside drinking my water.
Using Natural and Organic.
I have always felt putting products in my hair that are free of chemicals and synthetic ingredients are better for my hair. So, I prefer to use more light oils like organic jojoba oil. I use jojoba oil after my hair drys from a wash n style as it helps condition and maintain a healthy scalp. Make sure to read the labels for organic/USDA organic that way you know that it has at least been sustained and has less synthetic ingredients. If products have synthetic ingredients like petroleum I try to stay away from putting in my hair because it can clog hair pores and create buildup difficult to get out of hair overtime.
These are 3 things I do consistently that I believe have positive benefits on my hair and waves that don’t have anything to do with actually brushing and compressing my hair. This is the health aspect of maintaining waves and healthy hair that I do alongside waving.
